DESCRIPTION:Cochin Carnival is the biggest celebration conducted on every year on the last week of December at Fort Kochi. The event is organized by the District Tourism Promotion Council\, Ernakulam and is officially inaugurated by hosting the flag in Vasco da Gama square. DESCRIPTION:Sree Parthasarathy Temple Adoor celebrates a ten-day annual festival which ends with Adoor Gajamela. Gajamela means fair of elephants. The festival falls under Thiruvonam asterism of the Malayalam month Makaram(January or February ). Adoor Gajamela is held at Sree Parthasarathy temple where the shrine is dedicated to Lord Krishna\, who is known as Parthasarathy. According to the Hindu epic Mahabharata\, Lord Krishna was the charioteer of Arjuna during Kurukshetra\, thus got the name Parthasarathy. This year Adoor Gajamela is on 4th February. The best and healthiest nine elephants take part in this grand procession.

SUMMARY:Uthralikkavu Pooram
DESCRIPTION:pic courtesy : Kerala Tourism \nUthralikkavu Pooram is one of the most famous festivals of Vadakancherry\, Thrissur. It is held at Sree Ruthira Mahakalikavu Temple. The festival is held at Malayalam month of Kumbham i.e during February or March. This year the festival is on the 25th of February. This pooram is considered as the second most crowded festival after Thrissur pooram. On the day of pooram\, three teams are formed from Vadakancherry\, Enakkad and Kumaranelloor. A grand procession of elephants with Netippattam\, Aalavattam and Venchamaram can be witnessed on the day by the three teams. Fireworks is one of the major attractions of the pooram. It is regarded as the second largest fireworks after Nenmara Vallangi Vella. We can see a huge crowd to see the fireworks which happen twice on the day\, one at evening 4 pm and other at early morning days of the next day.

St. George statue is carried out by the Tamil devotees and placed in the centre of the church. It is believed that this holy church is known for curing disease especially mental disorders. People from all over Kerala gather for the 10-day feast. Eduthua church is known for its architectural structure.

SUMMARY:Thrissur Pooram
DESCRIPTION:Known as Poorams of Pooram\, Thrissur Pooram is one of the biggest festivals in Kerala. It is the annual festival conducted in Vadakkumnathan Temple\, Thrissur. Celebrated in the Malayalam month of Medam(April – May). This is held in Thekkinkadu Maidhanam\, the open ground in front of Vadakkumnathan temple. Thrissur was organized by Shakthan Thampuran\, the Maharaja of Cochin with the participation of 10 temples(Paramekkavu\, Thiruvambadi Kanimangalam\, Karamucku\, Laloor\, Choorakottukara\, Panamukkampally\, Ayyanthole\, Chembukkavu\, Neythilakavu). He divided temples into two groups Paramekkavu side and Thiruvambady side. \n \nThe festival witness grand line up of elephants along with Kodamattam ceremony. Festival starts with Kodiyettam(flag hosting)\, 7 days before Thrissur Pooram with a light firework to celebrate the commencement of the festival. On the day of Thrissur Pooram\, vibrant colours of parasols are shifted in a rhythmic movement known as Kodamattam. Thrissur Pooram is famous for its fireworks. People from far away places gather here on the day of Thrissur Pooram to see the fireworks and the grand festival. Fireworks continue till the next morning. The story behind the Thrissur Pooram is that the deities of other temple visit to see Lord Vadakkunathan accompanied by chenda and pancha vadyam
